Does anyone else get kind of thrown off when mistaken for an employee? It’s one thing when you’re wearing the same color shirt as the store’s uniform, but sometimes I’ll be wearing a band tee and browsing for cases of Snapple, while the real employees are clearly wearing blue vests.
Is it that I hold myself like an employee? If that means that I have an air of authority and responsibility, then that’s horrible. I’d like to think that I convey a sense of slacking-off at all times, even when I’m not on the clock, so maybe that’s what’s coming across.
