There are all these bits of phrases and workplace jargon that responsible adults are supposed to know intuitively. They always sound strange to my ears, and I wonder how so many people use them so casually. Okay, so “End of Day” is pretty straightforward. Not the best example.
The bigger question is how Greg keeps getting his job back. I suspect it’s like one of those breakups that doesn’t take - the other party doesn’t have the heart to enforce the split when Greg keeps showing up and acting like everything’s normal. He’ll wear them down completely someday, and presumably end up married to his boss, I think.
