I still love my gaming brethren, but I’m not sure what makes so many of them so horrible sometimes. There’s the smaller-scale stuff, like the overly entitled gamer who thinks developers should do whatever fits their personal taste, but they’re not the ones who actively upset me. My big problem is with the gamers who think it’s okay to be racist and sexist in our games and in our community. The number of people I’ve seen on blogs and message boards trying to defend their offensive actions is unfortunate.
I just want everyone to be a decent person. Is that so wrong? (According to some people: yes, yes it is.)
