Sometimes I invent rules for interacting with people. It’s easy to ignore those rules when they become ridiculous; at least, it’s easy in real life. The internet is a different story.
Is it so wrong to want Facebook to be a completely accurate chronicle of my social life? Basically, all a social network boils down to is a large, interactive series of lists - a list of friends, of interests, of groups you belong to and events you participate in. And really, if there’s one thing I take seriously, it’s list-making.
