My older brother and I finally swapped our video game consoles, which is not nearly as hip or sexy as it may sound.

He has my Xbox and I have his Playstation. When we started going through our game libraries, I realized how much of an overlap there was between the games available on each system. I still think back to the console wars in the 90s, when choosing a sytem made a statement about who you were as a gamer. Either you got a Nintendo because you liked to play video games or you got a Sega because you were a goddamn monster.

Nowadays it really doesn’t make that much of a difference. Most of the games are the same across the two “hardcore gamer” consoles.

(Well, except that owning an Xbox instead of a Playstation clearly makes you a better person. But that should be obvious.)
