Why are words so confusing? I’m pretty sure that when people say they want something more adult, they aren’t referring to the kind of thing found in adult films. Similarly, when they say I need to be more mature, they don’t mean that I have to play more video games that are rated M for Mature. And very few people want the intersection of adult things and mature things, which only makes things even more confusing.
