I haven’t really been paying attention to this year’s Olympic games, but I have seen the sometimes creepy/sometimes cute bear mascot. While I give whoever designed it credit in creating a character that can so easily represent the duality of man, my pick for best mascot still falls on Izzy, the lovable scamp from the Atlanta ‘96 games. He is an anthropomorphic blue something, and his name stands for “What is it?“
Because if you’re going to make a character that will represent an incredibly popular world event, there’s nothing like just blatantly admitting that even you’re not sure what kind of monster you’ve created.
