Don’t you find it a little odd that the perfect time of year to find great discounts on things you like is also the time of year that you are supposed to wait patiently and see what other people are going to get you? I mean, who’s to say that your loved ones are going to get such good deals as the sales you find? Isn’t that a pretty big risk to take?
For Greg, the stakes were just too high NOT to spend all his money on himself. It’s efficient, really, buying your own gifts. In the end, who can fault him? The answer, of course, is everyone. Gaze upon him and know how much better you are than he.
But answer me this - who can say they’ve never once indulged? Anyone? I think not.
Possible solution: Step 1: Buy the item Step 2: Sneak it under the potential giver's pillow Step 3: When giver asks what the game is doing under their pillow, yell "La la la" loudly. When they stop, explain "I have never seen the item before. The Santa Fairy probably placed it there to give to me, so stop talking about it before you ruin the surprise." Step 4: Obligitory ??? Step 5: Profit. Sort of. It definitely would have been cheaper to have allowed someone else to pay for it…
