This strange, socially-awkward (to say the least) seminar depicted in today’s comic was actually inspired by an article on Lifehacker. The idea that you can focus-group your friends to try to figure out how to be a better person probably explains right there what your social problems are.
Now, if you were robots trying to learn how to fit in with human society, or aliens who were in disguise, it might be worth exploring this technique. Basically, either this idea is completely ridiculous for actual humans to put into practice, or we are so beyond hope for interpersonal growth that we don’t recognize what a good idea it is. I suppose either one is possible.
