There are a lot of ways to be disgusted by the consumer spectacle of Black Friday, especially as it gradually invades the surrounding days. The big problem with abstaining, as with opting out of mainstream capitalism in general, is that it’s easiest to do so when mooching off of those who don’t abstain. Someone must have an easy solution to that, right? I’d pay top dollar for a resolution to that issue.
Is it possible that the seeds of an idea for this comic were planted back when Tim was in his anti-money phase, and would only make homemade gifts? I forget– where did the supplies for those gifts come from again?
