If there’s one thing we take seriously, it’s the sanctity of a given holiday’s season. Well, I guess if there’s one thing, it’s the importance of a good breakfast. But if there are two things, then the holiday one is one of them. Breakfast and holidays.
One holiday must never be allowed to encroach on another, that is absolutely true. If I may play devil’s advocate for a moment, though, I think I can understand Greg’s feeling. The real essential point is that none should infringe on Halloween - Christmas and Thanksgiving do naturally overlap a little bit, and in some ways the Thanksgiving season is best understood as the beginning of the Christmas season.
Still, Mayra has the right idea. We absolutely have to start by celebrating fall colors and thankfulness and overeating. If we don’t, we’re no better than the turkeys we fought so hard to defend this country from.
