Man, what a weekend!
Maybe it was the sleep deprivation that made us so delirious, or possibly all the candy we kept eating. It may have had something to do with the secluded, luxurious, but mostly empty hotel in the middle of nowhere. I tend to think it was just such a rush meeting so many awesome people. Whatever it was, Webcomics Con felt like a different reality, and I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t seriously consider living in it full time if that were possible.
This wasn’t just our first convention, but also the first ever Webcomics Con, which made it a really good fit for us. A lot of the exhibitors were first-timers like us. But even the more established folks seemed to be having a great time.
As well as introducing our brand new books, we debuted the early alpha version of a game we’ve been working on, and we couldn’t be happier with how it went. Going for that number 1 spot on the High Scores became quite an intense competition. We’re making some changes, but we hope to have a version available to the general public soon.
Whether it was getting shot with Nerf darts by our neighbors from I Am a Stuffed Animal, hanging out with Cobra Commander, or cheering for Greg Dean of Real Life Comics as he attacked a balloon version of Guilded Age‘s Phil Kahn with a remote control helicopter, we had a ton of fun every minute we were there.
Thanks to the guys at Out At Home, Chris Hastings of Dr. McNinja, Lisa Cavalear over at Happy Kitty Studio, and Scott Christian Sava of The Dreamland Chronicles, just to name a few of the great people we meet. We hope to see everyone next year!
I find it interesting that of all the pictures you guys could of taken, this is the one you chose to take.
Hey, I wrote up a little blurb about the Norwalk Webcomic Con on Sunday, take a little look-see if you've got the time: http://elizabethjancewicz.wordpress.com/2011/10/05/the-norwalk-webcomic-con/
