Normally, he spends most of his time in Washington, but he couldn’t resist making the trip for our epic party. And it was a pretty excellent party, awkward comments aside. Terry came, and some of our other friends.

You're just basing that on stereotypes
i totally loled on the second frame (is "frame" the right comic terminology?), but then got like mentally side tracked on the third frame. i think you could've gone straight to the last frame from the second. i'm just sayin'. i think you can trust your audience to get the dorky jokes without putting in a film-like pause. but what do i know!
Trust our audience? That's ridiculous!! Everyone knows we have no audience.
But thanks! Glad you're into our comic, Melody. Pacing can be tricky, but as for terminology, I'm pretty flexible; "frame," "panel," "picture box thingy," whatever works!
