As much as I love going out and meeting new people, sometimes I am just more inclined to sit and snack and keep to myself. It’s hard work to be actively social. You have to find out about parties without actually being invited to them, which requires a lot of research. At least it’s easier at Halloween parties, where people won’t be surprised not to recognize you among all the costumes.
The other thing Halloween is good for is dressing like an obscure character to make sure that only cool people understand your costume. This dramatically narrows down the number of people at any given party you need to talk to, which is obviously the goal, right?
